  • The Metaverse and virtual space are currently being fully embraced by Porsche.

The realm of NFTs and blockchain technology is still being investigated by numerous businesses and industries. Automakers and vehicles are not an exception.

In 1931, Ferdinand Porsche established the company, making Porsche one of the most recognizable car names in the world. Porsche’s first model to be made accessible to the general public was the Type 36, a two-door, two-seat sports vehicle that was launched in 1936 and was built on the notion that automobiles should be conceived and produced in-house rather than relying on third-party suppliers and distributors.

Porsche is currently making a full-throttle entry into the Metaverse and virtual space. Since that time, the company has continued to produce famous automobiles like the 911 and the Cayenne SUV, which are now among the most recognizable cars on the road.

With a new virtual brand presentation and a new collection of digital assets that comprise historical Porsche vehicles and components that have evolved into cultural touchstones and trendsetters over time, Porsche is highlighting its position as an iconic brand. The automaker wants to employ blockchain technology and incorporate it into current and upcoming procedures and solutions.

Porsche has a 7,500-piece NFT collection based on the vintage Porsche 911 in mind as its first Web3 project. Each of the NFTs will be made by Hamburg designer and 3D artist Patrick Vogel and will be made available in January 2023.

Porsche’s ultimate goal with this new virtual brand presentation is to broaden the appeal of its sports cars to include sought-after digital artifacts. To achieve this, the team drew on “Porsche heritage, typical Porsche elements, and modern lifestyle to put together an exciting set of possible layers in a token-gated and creative journey,” according to Lars Krämer, Porsche’s manager of innovation & methods, when describing the aesthetic of the 3D visuals. Additionally, he underlined that Porsche left some room for owners to “let their style and situational mood flow into the visualization.”

Porsche NFT owners have exclusive access to both virtual and physical experiences. Digital trailblazers can interact with Porsche directly and take part in the company’s foray into Web3.
