Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) has been included in Cool Cats FC, an NFT collection developed by Cool Cats, Animoca Brands, and OneFootball, on the Polygon Mainnet. The team can use a tamper-proof and auditable RNG to randomize the distribution of rewards by integrating this leading decentralized oracle network.

Holders can track the development of their team’s performance throughout the competition and see how their dNFT changes from the group stage through the round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.

To provide a random number and a cryptographic proof, Chainlink VRF combines block data—which is still unknown at the time of an initial request—with the pre-committed private key of the oracle node.
The input random number for the Cool Cats FC smart contract will only be accepted if it contains legitimate cryptographic proof, which can only be produced if the VRF procedure is tamper-proof.
