In a recent announcement, it has been revealed that InterContinental Hotels & Resorts has launched the first collection of NFTs with luxury travel benefits. The NFTs have been launched in an exclusive collaboration with Claire Luxton, a British contemporary artist. This marks the first-ever joint venture for both.
It should be noted that each NFT is inspired by the elegance of global travel utilizing the natural flora and fauna sign of the artist’s work. This will be done in order to characterize the storied heritage of the brand and far-flung destinations.
As revealed, Motifs have been brought to life in the form of an animation in a virtual NFT gallery, involving the blue and yellow macaw. This represents the first InterContinental hotel in Brazil, Belém, and the panther chameleon, emphasizing InterContental Resort Mauritius on Balaclava Bay.
Each of the 10 NFTs will reportedly involve a rare utility that will be responsible for adding value to the NFT beyond the artwork itself. In addition to this, it involves the ownership of an NFT, which will be featuring custom artwork from Claire Luxton. It has been revealed that the physical works of Claire Luxton have been valued between £3,000-£5,000.
Moreover, the owner will be gaining access to an InterContinental Ambassador status, which will provide exceptional advantages and enhanced recognition along with Platinum Elite status. It’s not completed yet, as it involves a one-night stay at the new InterContinental Rome Ambasciatoru Palace, which is set to open in 2023.
