  • Balloon creations were made available in 2021 and were initially featured as collectible NFTs to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Macy’s Parade.
  • Macy’s in collaboration with Transparent House and Media.Monks began the Macy’s Parade NFT/metaverse initiative.
  • Live from New York City, the Thanksgiving Day Parade can be streamed on Peacock and will air on November 24 on NBC from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in every time zone.

The country’s most cherished holiday celebration, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, has come back to the Web3 space with a new Parade experience to allow fans to pick Macy’s Parade balloon, the very first NFT.

To celebrate the 96th match, Macy’s Parade can be experienced in the metaverse like a virtual Parade. Virtual galleries from five NFT collections will be included in the Parade. Fans will have the opportunity to vote for favorite creators, which will let one of their designs come to life since it will be upgraded into high-flyingform in the Macy Parade of the next year.

Executive producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Will Coss, shared their excitement to take the performance to the Web3 virtual landscape once again and empower the Disord community, fans and collectors. He added that their Parade NFT’s genesis collection was extremely successful last year and they wanted to offer their digital community the chance to choose a native NFT design that could be upgraded into the Macy’s Parade balloon in the real-world. Another aim was to raise funds for their partner, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

The OnCyber metaverse that’s available to both collectors and fans will be entirely accessible on mobile and desktop, the virtual Parade is accessible at macys.com/NFT and doesn’t require a crypto wallet, VR headset or complex log in. Legendary Macy’s Parade balloons flight will be featured in the metaverse Parade from the nine decade run.

Fans can explore a total of five galleries that will display NFT collections from SupDucks, SupDucks, Gmoney, VeeFriends and Cool Cats. Voting will remain live until December 4 at 11:59 p.m. EST. The winning project will become an IRL balloon next year during the 97th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

A free Macy’s digital collectible will be given to the first 100,000 fans who will vote. Voting can be done without buying an NFT or claiming an NFT collectible. Rules to vote can be checked at macys.com/NFT from November 24.

Collectors can mint a virtual gallery pass to get an OnCyber NFT gallery space that’s scheduled to be dropped on December 5. The cost to mint a virtual gallery pass is $50 and the entire purchase will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

Additional votes will be provided to NFT collectors who will mint as well as to those who own Macy’s 2021 Parade NFTs. Owners of Gmoney, VeeFriends, Boss Beauties, SupDucks and Cool Cats NFTs will get additional voting power.
