  • Pringles has launched a metaverse position to refill its vending machines.
  • Players get a chance to work as an NPC and win $25,000.
  • The winner was expected to be announced on July 11.

Popular snack brand, Pringles is proceeding into the metaverse by giving gamers a thrilling opportunity to earn $25,000 by playing an NPC or non-player character in Train Sim World 2.

The deadline to submit the application was July 6 and required posting a selfie or video with maximum 50 words on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. Other conditions included using the hashtag #PringlesStayInTheGame and tagging @Pringles_UK, explaining what makes one the right choice for Pringles vending machine stocker.

A total of 50 finalists were to be selected and the winning entry will have their likeness 3D modeled as well as reproduced for their role in Train Sim in September.

Pringles has set its focus on people from Germany, U.K., Spain, Italy and France.

A talking vending machine, voiced by comedian Ian Smith was placed in The Green in Boxpark Shoreditch to interview the humans IRL. 100 plus people had applied.

Through videos, Pringles featured NPC players who were disappointed about not being able to apply for the Pringles gig.

In a world where robots have dominated humans, coming across something that has the potential to imply otherwise is fascinating.

As of now, it’s interesting to find out who becomes the winner, takes home $25,000  and gets the lifetime opportunity to work in the metaverse.
