  • 14 brands as well as celebrities will join the metaverse.
  • To assure legitimacy of access to LAND, there will be a new raffle system.
  • Assuring that community is served by pushing towards decentralization and possession of its metaverse is the biggest challenge for The Sandbox in terms of LAND sale.

In partnership with Snoop Dog, Tony Hawk and Playboy and more, The Sandbox is prepared to begin its three-part LAND sale.

A crypto-powered game, The Sandbox is similar to Minecraft or Roblox though it uses the blockchain technology to give users the ownership of in-game assets through non-fungible tokens other than the potential to trade virtual land on popular marketplaces like OpenSea.

1,967 LANDS- 50 estates, 134 premium LANDS, 695 regular LANDS and 19 1-of-1 LAND pieces will be auctioned. Premium and standard LAND sales are assigned through a blind ballot system.

LAND refers to real estate’s NFT-ified virtual portion that constitutes the The Sandbox game’s building blocks. Just like traditional real estate, users can buy plots of land to utilize them and host experiences or trade them on marketplaces. There are 166,464 LANDs in the game with the present value of each piece at 1.119 ETH.

On November 24, the sale will begin at 3PM UTC with an inaugural wave, California Dreamin’, to display California-based brands like The Marathon and Playboy. The sale will proceed through two additional thematic releases until they accomplish in the beginning of 2023.

Sebastien Borget, co-founder and COO of The Sandbox, said that including several brands that have an identical theme will give users the chance to become neighbors of several partners who share an identical theme such as picking the district they wish to reside in for a city.

Users will be given the chance to own a respected virtual LAND and be neighbors with Snoop Dogg or Paris Hilton as well as create their personal club near by Cipriani, all thanks to the blind ballot. Users must hold at least 1,011 SAND in their blockchain wallet. The sale is restricted to one asset for each user.

Regarding the decision to apply strict entry conditions in terms of sale which also includes that owners must have in their wallet a minimum value of SAND and KYC security methods, Borget shared that he expects such an approach will democratize assets’ distribution.

The Galleria, the second wave of LAND sales, will display a virtual neighborhood experience based around media, fashion and hospitality. The sale has been planned for December 1 with the third sale, Voxel Madness, expected in early 2023.
