  • Trump launches a new NFT series, signaling a pro-crypto stance ahead of the November election.
  • America First Collection features 50 NFTs at $99 each, with exclusive perks for buyers.
  • Trump’s evolving crypto views bolster his appeal to enthusiasts, with significant campaign donations.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has released a new series of non-fungible token (NFT) trading cards to bolster his appeal among cryptocurrency enthusiasts ahead of the November presidential election.

The announcement came via his Truth Social account. Trump shared details about the latest collection and released a promotional video in which he referred to himself as the “crypto president.”

The new digital cards, called “Series 4: America First Collection,” include 50 stylized images of Trump with captions like “Greatest of All Time” and “America Strong.” Each NFT is priced at $99, with supporters who buy 15 or more cards, totaling $1,485, receiving a physical version containing a piece of the suit Trump wore during his presidential debate against Joe Biden in June.

The announcement also stated that up to 25 buyers who spend $24,750 exclusively in cryptocurrency will receive tickets to a gala in Florida next month, where they can enjoy cocktails with Trump.

Trump’s recent NFT launch reflects a shift from his earlier stance on cryptocurrencies. In 2021, he dismissed Bitcoin as a “scam.” However, by June 2024, Trump expressed a more favorable view, claiming at a campaign rally in Wisconsin that the future of cryptocurrency would be “made in America.”

This marks a significant change for Trump, who entered the NFT market in December 2022 with his initial batch of 44,000 tokens, which sold out within two days, according to OpenSea.

Trump’s relationship with the crypto community has grown. The former president made a speech at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, where he emphasized his commitment to preserving America’s Bitcoin reserves as a national strategic asset.

According to David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, the crypto community had donated over $25 million to Trump’s campaign by the end of July.

After the NFT experiment, Trump reposted an official cryptocurrency campaign on Truth Social related to the Telegram group “World Liberty Financial”, created by his sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr. The channel was previously called ‘The Defiant Ones’ and boasts a 50k subscribers base. As for the future prospects of the project, there are few details which can be obtained at the moment.
