  • The Sandbox Metaverse Accelerator Program will contribute to the growth of the open metaverse by investing in 30 to 40 blockchain firms annually.
  • Each startup will receive up to $250,000 from the program. Additionally, top performers will be given SAND and LAND grants and follow-on investments.
  • High-profile advisors will be available to assist acknowledged startups, such as Cathy Hackl (Futures Intelligence Group), Holly Atkinson (The Sandbox), Holly Liu (Kabam), Janine Yorio (Republic Realm), Leah Callon-Butler (Emfarsis), Manav Gupta (Brinc), Sebastien Borget (The Sandbox), Serena Tabacchi (Museum of Contemporary Digital Art), Susan Cumming &others

The Sandbox is pleased to welcome the seven startups chosen for the first cohort of The Sandbox Metaverse Accelerator Program. The Sandbox metaverse aspires to fundamentally alter how individuals interact in their daily lives, including how users engage in social interaction, conduct business, or enjoy leisure.

The program will provide up to a $250,000 first investment to any startup that is accepted. The Sandbox will also award LAND awards and additional grants totaling up to US$150,000 in SAND tokens to the top performers. Startups can also apply for follow-on funding from The Sandbox, Animoca Brands, and Brinc if they show significant growth after the program.

The open metaverse will be supported by the Sandbox Metaverse Accelerator Program thanks to common principles of open, transparent, decentralised governance. Due to strong network effects, this will displace the existing paradigm of closed platforms, resulting in a more sustainable digital future.
