VISA files NFT & metaverse trademarks to offer crypto wallets

Earlier today, Today NFT News reported, Ulta Beauty filed a trademark application to move into metaverse with NFTs, virtual makeup and salon services. Now according to a recent update, VISA has also followed the same footsteps and filed for two trademark applications. 

The news was shared by trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis on Twitter.

The applications were filed on October 22 and have plans to offer- 

  • NFTs and virtual goods
  • Virtual environments 
  • Management of virtual, digital and cryptocurrency transactions 
  • Digital currency and cryptocurrency wallets

Going in detail, VISA has shown interest in providing virtual environments to enable users to engage for purposes such as entertainment, fun and recreational activities. There are plans to offer software that can be utilized to audit cryptocurrency, digital tokens, utility tokens, digital currency, digital & blockchain assets, crypto tokens, virtual currency and digitized assets. 

The trademarks have also been filed to provide non-downloadable virtual goods like a collectible series of NFTs. Software to manage digital transactions and offering temporary use of non-downloadable software to enable users to view, access, save, track, handle, trade, receive, exchange, send and transmit crypto, digital currency, NFTs, virtual currency and digital & blockchain assets are also included in the applications.

Earlier this month, Visa teamed up with FTX betting shoppers who still want crypto.
