- An alliance of Web3 companies has been launched by Unstoppable Domains and self-regulating boards are being aimed.
- A cross-chain alliance of major blockchain and Web3 players that has formed the Web3 Area Alliance, which was unveiled on November 2 at the Net Summit in Lisbon, has made interoperability in Web3 domains a priority.
- Bonfida, Tezos Domains, Polkadot Name System, Hedera, Syscoin, and Klaytn Name Service are among the cross-chain alliance’s members.
The Open Metaverse Alliance is a coalition of blockchain-based metaverses and Web3 platforms that has been working since July to address industry interoperability issues, particularly with regard to digital identity and avatar standards across metaverses. Unstoppable Domains was compelled to join by the self-regulatory agenda.
Carter said:
We encouraged all naming services to join us. The coalition intends to stop dangerous phishing scams, criminals posing as Web3 “top-level domains,” violating copyrights, and Web3 domain collisions. Bonfida, Tezos Domains, Polkadot Name System, Hedera, Syscoin, and Klaytn Name Service are also participants.

Carter describes himself as an innovator who educates people about the value proposition of data ownership. The relationship between users and digital privacy will significantly change for future generations. Carter also believes that raising awareness about data ownership is still a major challenge in the space.
Carter predicts that as the idea of data ownership spreads, movements like decentralised websites and metaverse avatars will gain traction. She continued:
I was just talking to a bunch of small businesses when one woman got up and stated that her website had been taken down for 30 days. She was unable to get anyone to give her an explanation. After 30 days, it reappeared, but she had already lost 30 days’ worth of internet sales. She resembled the ideal use case.
