Bored Ape Yacht Club‘s original web3 developer, Yuga Labs, has announced a $1 million donation to Miami’s arts and education projects. The Co-founder of Yuga Labs Wylie Aronow shared the announcement on Twitter saying that the first donation of $300k will go to Venture Miami.

In the official blog published on Yuga Lab’s website, the $300,000 to the Venture Miami Scholarship Fund will provide free tuition to Miami students in need who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field at a Miami institution.

Yuga Labs added that they are excited to work with them to provide Miami residents with the knowledge they need to land in-demand jobs with excellent salaries. The money will help organizations trying to reduce the opportunity gap for thousands of Miami residents grow and strengthen. A $300,000 contribution will be made to the Venture Miami Scholarship Fund to kick off this new initiative. The Venture Miami Scholarship Fund is the initial program designated as part of this larger project.

Moreover, the founders share that as as a web3.0 company they are amazed to see how Miami has become a global hub for cryptocurrency and blockchain communities, and it is, in fact, one of the key reasons why the Yuga Lab creators are enthusiastic to continue building their business and club in Miami.
