Yuga Labs have devised a plan to introduce and donate its CryptoPunk NFT to Modern Art Museums around the globe, stating it as Punk#305. The Punk#305 collection has been chosen as its number relates to the Miami Phone Codes: 305. Moreover, Miami is the hometown of Yuga Lab’s Co-founders, Greg Solano and Wylie Aronow.

The Ethereum-based NFT has been donated to Miami’s Institute of Contemporary Art. This donation will be the first-ever NFT donation to an art museum. The Art Museum currently offers free admission and would be open to viewers after a private unveiling event on 2nd December 2022 during Art Basel.

The Brand Lead of Yuga Labs also ensured during a talk with ‘Decrypt’ that this would not be a one-time donation. Yuga Labs is also planning to donate several other NFTs to various museums for display in the future.

Individuals have criticized the Collection as just a mere piece of Digital Pixels. Still, the Punk collection has made its mark on the Web3 world by introducing the tokenized profile picture projects template. Yuga labs are moving to raise the Punk Legacy to the world by establishing an art world credential with a historical narrative for Ethereum NFTs.
