Vkontakte, the largest social network in Russia, has made it possible for users to upload digital artifacts to the site. Since the company intends to develop a market for non-fungible tokens, account holders will eventually be able to buy and sell them.
According to VK CEO Marina Krasnova and Chief Technology Officer Alexander Tobol at a presentation in Moscow. The new functionalities will soon be available to all users. Digital collectible owners will be able to use the VK NFT option to transfer their items to their accounts.

The tokens can also be used as avatars or shown in a special showcase on the profile. To do it, you must link your cryptocurrency wallet to your account. “Our goal is to streamline human contact with NFT and make it truly a popular technology.”
An NFT hub will be established by VK where case studies, market analytics, and news may be share. The team behind the platform will utilize the forum to interact with the NFT community, share ideas, and look for possible partners.
Vkontakte plans to launch its own NFT collection in January 2023 and a full-fledged NFT marketplace in the future to enable users to buy and exchange memorabilia. Technology will be a part of every service offered by the market leader in social networking, including games and gifts.
Russian authorities have suggested extending the legal framework for crypto assets to cover more associated services and products.
