Lysol files NFT trademark application to enter into the metaverse

American cleaning and disinfecting products brand, Lysol is the latest name to file a trademark application. Based on the application, it has plans to begin its journey into the metaverse and NFTs space.

The application was submitted to the USPTO on July 19. Lysol aims to offer non-fungible tokens, digital cleaning preparations and wipes, virtual as well as cryptocurrency trading & financial services, marketplaces for virtual currencies, crypto and NFTs.

Trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis shared the news through a post on Twitter.

The company experienced tremendous growth in sales in the United States and worldwide during the pandemic. 

Last year, it announced a partnership with Sarah Michelle Gellar, actor, author and entrepreneur for its disinfecting wipes “Buy One, Donate One” program.

In the past few months, a number of popular brands have joined the metaverse, NFT and crypto space to stand tall with the evolving technologies and compete with the contenders.Last month, there was this news that said that NFT trademark applications filed in the United States have surpassed 4,000.
