The Higher Committee of the Government of Sharjah presented awards at GITEX Global 2022 in recognition of the contributions made by the attendees, supporting departments, and media outlets to Sharjah’s participation in international events.
As a substitute for tangible gratitude plaques, Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Government’s Higher Committee at GITEX Technology Week 2022 and Director of Sharjah Digital Office, presented digital trophies utilizing Soulbound Tokens (SBT) to the supporting entities in place of tangible gratitude plaques.
It was the first time in the emirate, and they were the first ones in the world to initiate this step. Blockchain technology will facilitate the verification of the authenticity of the prizes.
SBTs, or digital identity tokens, represent the traits, characteristics, and accomplishments that make up a person or an entity. SBTs are issued by “Souls,” which refers to blockchain wallets or accounts, and as such are neither transferable nor exchangeable.
According to Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah and a member of the Supreme Council, he will continue to work toward sustainable growth in all sectors. This assertion was made by Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi.
Furthermore,
he also stated that his company is the first worldwide to replace traditional appreciation plaques with long-lasting digital assets to recognize their partners in line with technological advancement.
The Sharjah government has been invited to participate in GITEX Technology Week 2022, and Sheikh Saud added, “We invited senior officials from the UAE and around the world.” They organized 12 workshops to talk about how the latest technologies are being adopted and how we’re keeping up with global technology trends and digitalization”
