Animoca Brands, a business that advances electronic ownership rights for gaming and the accessible virtual world, recently reported that it has completed the purchase of WePlay Media Holdings LLC, the sole shareholder of XXL Racing LLC, an official licensee of MotoGPTM, and WePlay Media LLC, the developer of the widely popular MotoGPTM Championship Quest, the formal MotoGPTM smartphone racing game.
WePlay Media, established by 20-year computer game veteran Mark DeSimone and chief operating officer Graeme Warring, intends to deliver AAA-quality digital apps and media centered on MotoGP to the marketplace.
WePlay Media has developed a way of tracking customer engagement, advertising exposures, and engagements in mobile gaming that is similar to the methods utilized by the International Race Teams Association (IRTA) in network television. This allows the company to create the annual MotoGPTM Sponsor Engagement Report, which documents billions of brand-related activities with MotoGPTM racers, groups, and advertisers.
