Daniel Alegre is announced as the new CEO of Yuga Labs, creator of Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs. He is a pioneer in the blockchain space and has been involved in a number of successful projects. Currently, he has been working in the blockchain space since 2008.

Alegre is passionate about technology, and he believes that blockchain technology will change the way the world works. He made an announcement about joining 72 hours after stepping down from his position as President and COO of Activision Blizzard.

Moreover, he led Activision Blizzard in early 2020. He was actively involved in the development of reputed Brands like candy crush, Diablo, Call of Duty, overwatch and Diablo and was at Google for 16 years of age.

Yuga Labs’ co-founder said that his joining as CEO will bring valuable experience in the fields of entertainment, global strategic partnerships, and web3. Daniel will be taking the lead of Yuga Labs from early 2023. The present CEO, Nicole Muniz, will remain as a strategic partner.

Alegre’s main focus will be gaming in the metaverse, which he intends to make interoperable. He adds, 

Yuga Labs has quickly made a name for itself through a powerful combination of storytelling and community-building and is a massive opportunity to define the metaverse in a way that empowers creators and provides users with true ownership of their identity and digital assets.

The FCC had declared it would file a lawsuit to prevent Microsoft from acquiring Activision Blizzard via a $69 billion deal. Daniels’s move to step down from Activision Blizzard to join Yuga Labs, coming just two weeks after this FCC declaration, has been defined as a bold and very strategic move.
