David Schwartz, the CTO of Ripple and one of the designers of the XRPL ecosystem, showcases his own NFT collection, titled Ugly On The Outside.Ugly On The Outside is now trading with a price of 0.25 ETH and a total trading volume of 3 ETH.

The figures in the collection are egregiously nasty, and the author speculates that their new owners would name them after acquaintances who are equally repulsive on the inside as these “folks” are on the outside.

Stable Diffusion, a program that turns text into visuals and produces photorealistic paintings, was used to create the collection.

Several enthusiasts were quick to fault Schwartz for producing and making available his collection on Ethereum, given the tense connection between the XRP community and Vitalik Buterin’s blockchain.

In response to the criticism, a Ripple officer stated that his primary collection is available on Sologenic, an important XRPL NFT marketplace, and that he is also in contact with XRP Cafe. In the NFT space, Schwartz added that he wasn’t playing favorites and that he wanted to learn as much as he could.

David Schwartz formerly served as the Chief Technical Officer for Santa Clara, California-based software provider WebMaster Incorporated before joining Ripple.

For businesses like CNN and the National Security Agency, he designed enterprise communications and encrypted cloud storage platforms (NSA). He is a well-liked figure in the cryptocurrency industry and goes by the name “JoelKatz.”
