New Zealand Cricket & Dream Sports sign 5 year deal to create digital fan engagement products

New Zealand Cricket and Dream Sports have mutually signed a five-year agreement to engage fans through digital products like NFTs, merchandise and gaming via the company’s portfolio. 

Developed by the cricket NFT platform, Rario, this will mark the team’s debut in cricket NFTs. Since 2019, Dream11 which is Dream Sports’ own brand, is serving as New Zealand’s official sports partner.

Last month, Dream Sports led a $120M Series A round of investments in Rario via Dream Capital.

The digital collectibles will allow NZC fans to access the cricket history across video moments, player cards and cricket artifacts using exclusively fiat currency products in India.

Dream Game Studios will build the next-generation mobile game. Moreover, a sports merchandise range will be hosted on FanCode in India, the sports content and commerce platform.

David White, team’s chief executive said that the partnership is a marvelous entry in the metaverse for the company and will bring new opportunities for fans of New Zealand cricket. 

He further said that New Zealand Cricket aims to extend its teams’ worldwide reach, establish closer relationships across the world and invent new ways to enable fans to interact & connect with the history of the sport. 

Chris Smith, NZC’s general manager for commercial said that the agreement will change the game for fans by taking the fan engagement to an unmatched level. 

Vikrant Mudaliar, chief marketing officer, Dream Sports, shared his excitement about the partnership with NZC and mentioned about utilizing its best potential to enhance fan engagement.
