  • Polygon is now supported on Seaport, a new, open-source, Web3 marketplace protocol for safely and efficiently purchasing and selling NFTs.
  • Seaport was launched first on Ethereum and has helped in the creation of a more feature-rich experience at a lower cost.
  • The shift to Seaport is capable of providing a more stable purchasing and selling experience that matches other chains.

Back in the month of June, OpenSea introduced a brand new, open-source, Web3 marketplace protocol for safely and efficiently purchasing and selling NFTs. In addition, it has now been revealed that the Polygon is now supported on Seaport.

Seaport was initially launched on Ethereum, and it has helped in the creation of a more feature-rich experience at a lower cost. Polygon has taken this step of officially moving to Seaport after several months of observing Seaport and collecting valuable feedback in relation to it.

Earlier, Polygon on Seaport was powered by 0x protocol, and this move to Seaport will facilitate a more stable purchasing and selling experience that matches other chains. Additionally, per the thread’s official revelation, there is no purchase threshold.

The users will be able to list and purchase Polygon NFTs at any price, as Seaport has eliminated the $5 minimum requirement. Currently, the minimum requirement is set to $1 to help prevent low-intent offers. In addition, the users will be backed by native token support, and the buyers and sellers can list and transact in Matic.

Talking about the Collection offers, those with under 100k items will have offers available on every item that’s there in the collection. On the other hand, Attribute offers are there for all the items in a collection that match the attribute. They will be available if the creator enables them.

What has added more to the key takeaways is that creator will now be able to specify multiple payout addresses that will be paid out in real-time. However, the upper limit is set to four. In addition, sellers are allowed to run English auctions and Dutch auctions for ascending and descending bids, respectively.

With the extended support of Seaport, sellers can now list Polygon NFTs as bundles that can be bought together. On the other hand, the buyers can purchase another wallet, like a gift for a friend.

Another notable thing that happened with this move is that OpenSea now supports the utilization of Matic, the native token of Polygon, to pay for users’ own gas fees for transacting on OpenSea.
