On October 6th 2022, Probably A, in collaboration with OpenSea, allowed the public listing of the record major Web 3 label to transform the music industry as a whole.

Probably Nothing and Warner Records have partnered with OpenSea, the largest secondary marketplace for Non-fungible tokens, to create a new kind of record label that will use Web3 technology to redefine IP ownership in the music industry. For the first time, a traditional major label and a preeminent NFT culture brand are working together to establish an ecosystem that makes it possible for artists to freely use blockchain technology.

This is the first time a big label collaborates with a Web3 business to build a platform that combines the features of a traditional label with how people interact with music today. By bringing music to life through NFTs and other platforms that involve the community in the creative process, OpenSea wishes to change how IP is perceived and used throughout the business.

“Our mission is not to redefine how people listen to music, but to elevate the experience in which people consume it, as well as collaborate directly with artists in a manner that helps develop their creative language. This pass from Probably A Label features access to exclusive releases from artists (including Grammy Award winners), an IP incubator program, events and more…this is just the beginning of our story,” as mentioned on the website of OpenSea.

Imagine a Web3 label working with its community to create a virtual artist, with every bearer receiving credit as a creator when that artist receives a Grammy. By more effectively utilising community power, our goal is to democratise the creative process for new ventures. Our goal is to create projects that encourage our holders to expand their creative horizons.
