  • Users of the VeVe app for iOS and Android will be able to access Thor’s fabled hammers. 8 AM PT on Friday, July 8.
  • The previous publication of the Spider-Man NFT collection was followed by the release of the Thor series.
  • NFTs are altering the way art is traded, giving creators and artists brand-new opportunities to monetize their output.

With five separate Spider-Man collectibles floating as a non-fungible token (NFT) last year, Marvel made its blockchain debut. With the introduction of new collectibles from other franchises like Thor, the venerable American film and television studio company Walt Disney Studios now plans to take it to the next level. On Friday, July 8 at 8 AM PT, only the VeVe app for iOS and Android will have access to Thor’s legendary hammers.

The release of the Thor series follows the earlier release of the Spider-Man NFT collection. The studio claims that this endeavor to commemorate “Marvel Month” on the VeVe App, the digital partner, includes these collectibles in a larger sense.

The Thor collectible lineup includes Mjolnir — Thor: Love and Thunder, Mjolnir — Thor, Mjolnir — Thor: The Dark World, Mjolnir — Thor: Ragnarok, and Stormbreaker — Avengers: Infinity War.

VeVe decided to use blind boxes to raise the stakes on drop day. These items are sold in blind boxes, so until you make a successful purchase, you won’t know the rarity you have. From there, you can keep adding collectibles to your collection and interacting with other users in the Market to finish building your set.

NFTs are changing the way art is traded, and this has given creators and artists completely new ways to monetize their work. Marvel is now aiming to capitalize on the NFT frenzy, although it didn’t join it right away in the first half of 2021.

Marvel sales in the secondary market will be subject to a 6% licensor fee in addition to the current VeVe 2.5 % secondary market cost, as with all Marvel digital collectibles.
Before this, VeVe released three Bandleader Mickey digital collectibles. The Original Mickey Mouse, Mickey Mouse, is included in the Disney Mickey Mouse NFT Collection. It pays homage to the most notable Mickey Mouse occasions and emphasizes the distinctiveness of culture and Mickey’s progress through varied appearances and costumes.
