  • They have become the first police force to enter the metaverse.
  • Now UAE citizens can communicate with police remotely.

Dubai recently hosted Gitex Global 2022 from 10th October to 14th October 2022. The event attracted web 3.0 and metaverse business entities worldwide. UAE government agencies also presented advanced technological developments in the Web 3.0 space.

One example of such a remarkable web 3.0 innovation was presented by the Ajman Police force. The Ajman police force introduced metaverse services to its citizens.

According to the official tweet, they are the first police agency to enter the metaverse. Ajman Police General Command launched the ‘Request for Sponsorship’ service in the Gitex Global Technology Week.

In this metaverse-powered smart service, citizens can communicate with the police force remotely. They do not have to visit the police station physically to lodge complaints or for any other issue.

In the metaverse introduced by the Ajman Police, the online avatars of police officers will answer the queries of the public.

Seven officers of the Al Nuaimaiah police station were trained to use the metaverse, VR glasses, and headsets.

Maj Noura Sultan Al Shamsi, head of Ajman Police’s media relations team said,

This was a trial but having proved successful, officers will continue to meet residents virtually,

She also added,

The meetings aimed to explore residents’ needs and answer their queries. Then we thought of facilitating this in a way that does not require people’s physical presence,

For now, the metaverse services are open only for resolving queries. Other services will soon follow.

Lt Col Mohammed Abu Shehab, head of services development at Al Nuaimaiah police station said that people’s opinions and feedback were crucial to developing such an advanced platform.
