Despite the NFT market not fulfilling people’s expectations, a Bored Ape-oriented new outlet is growing by leaps & bounds, owing to the ApeCoin DAO’s treasury.

In mid-june, a proposal to seek $150,000 in funds for the publication was posted.

ApeCoin DAO has supported the funding of The Bored Ape Gazette, a news site. Furthermore, as per a forum post on BAYC’s affiliated digital asset ApeCoin website, the community is in favor of boosting the funds for the news portal.

AIP-70 or the proposal,  has passed brilliantly with votes from about 1.1 million ApeCoin tokens. Also, 149,000 ApeCoin tokens were against the Gazette’s proposal, which states assigning $150,000 in order to fund the site. The website features news about BAYC NFTs, MAYC NFTs, Kennel Club and Otherside.

Kyle Swenson, who is the writer and editor, will be paid $7,000 per month using the money. He will be responsible for written content on ApeCoin DAO news.  Furthermore, he will create a bi-weekly Bored Ape Gazette newsletter.

According to the proposal, price trackers for ApeCoin and trackers for activity will be added to the BAKC, BAYC, Otherdeed and MAYC ethereum NFT collections.

As far as remaining funds are concerned, they will be used to pay freelancers an amount of $100 per story. Lastly, hiring writers from ApeCoin’s DAO community is also on the to-do list.
