Boxing Legend Wladimir Klitschko To Release NFTs To Support Ukraine

Wladimir Klitschko, a former boxing legend and champion has been said to release and sell NFT collections in a collaboration. The main motive of this action is to raise funds to protect his motherland, Ukraine from the invasion of Russia.

He has teamed with WhIsBe, who is a New York-based artist, for the NFT collection that is set to be released on Wednesday. It will be released on an NFT marketplace, called OpenSea. The NY-based artist, WhIsBe is re-designing his “Vandal Gummy” bears artwork. These artworks feature gummy bears in vibrant colors, lined up in police photos. The art in the new collection will be focused on the gummy bears, where they will be colored as the Ukrainian flag – blue & yellow.

You can find the WhIsBe x Wladimir Klitschko collection available at different prices, such as $100 and $1000 price points. Also, 1 of 1 NFT will be sold for a handsome price of $1 million.

The supporters of Ukraine, which includes DAOs and NGOs have managed to raise around millions of dollars via cryptocurrency donations and other efforts. Almost two weeks ago, Russia launched a full-scale attack against Ukraine.

Klitschko won the World Boxing Organization’s heavyweight title twice. As of now, he is 45 years old. It has been reported that he has enlisted in Ukraine’s reserve army. His brother, Vitali is now the mayor of Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital. Both the brothers have promised to defend their home country at all costs.

The sale will go live on Wednesday and will run for about three weeks after that.
