  • Recent revelation disclosed that the Ethereum Goerlis testnet had been merged.
  • This is going to be the last testnet before the Ethereum mainnet merge, which is expected to occur in September.
  • The tweet revealed that both Ropsten and Sepolia successfully switched from PoW to PoS.
In a recent announcement made on Twitter, it has been revealed that the Ethereum Goerlis testnet has been merged. As reported, the Ethereum Goerlis testnet has been merged in the last testnet before the Ethereum mainnet merge, which is expected in September.

One of the developers at Ethereum, MariusVanDerWijden, recently shared a tweet that revealed there was some confusion on the network. This was because of the presence of two varying terminal blocks and several non-updated nodes, and that served as the reason for not finalizing it earlier.

He revealed that they are still looking into what’s happening exactly, but so far, it appears quite good. Going through the community response over the tweet, it was revealed that it seems that all the testnet issues have been with the ecosystem constructed on top of the network and not the code.

MariusVanDerWiljden mentioned that minor issues were found on the previous testnets, but the major thing is users not updating to the appropriate software or misconfiguring their setups.

In addition to this, it should be noted that both Ropsten and Sepolia have successfully switched from the PoW consensus mechanism to the PoS consensus mechanism.
