Making a Fortune with NFT, Beeple Praises 2nd Annual NFT Awards

Nominations for the second annual NFT awards, a program aimed to form a sense of collective thought leadership to guide the non-fungible token (NFT) space forward, are now closed. As per the data by NFT.NYC, 12,353 nominations have been received. Community voting will be open from Monday, May 23 until Sunday, May 29. NFT.NYC, on their Twitter account, announced the update.

Supported by OpenSea, APENFT and NFT.Kred, the second annual NFT awards will be hosted on June 21 at the Marriott Marquis from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Mike Winkelmann, popularly known as Beeple, the artist who rose to fame after selling his NFT art, Everydays: The First 5000 Days for $69 million also shared his excitement about the annual NFT awards. Applauding the dedication of creating the NFT community, he expressed his enthusiasm via a Twitter post:

The NFT awards are meant to recognize 30 NFT initiatives that are chosen by the community, including Best NFT Artist and Best Blockchain Gaming Company. Since 2018, NFT.NYC is dedicated to NFTs as well as builders with a goal to serve the community with a voice. Promoting NFTs across the globe and bringing together project employees who are working on similar projects, it strives to give NFT word the recognition it is worthy of. All in all, the awards honor and promote about 30 categories of community-selected NFT activities.

All the NFT Award winners will be notified in advance and asked to attend for free. Radio City Music Hall, New York Marriott Marquis, Palladium Times Square, The Edison Ballroom, The Edison Rooftop, The Town Hall, and Margaritaville Resort Times Square will host the event.

Earlier this month, Beeple collaborated with Madonna to create an NFT displaying creation and motherhood, which didn’t go well with Crypto Twitter.
