STEPN partnerships with Atlético de Madrid to launch Genesis NFT sneakers


  • Atlético de Madrid and WhaleFin have joined to come up with 1,001 football boots.
  • The boots will be created in the NFT pattern on STEPN.
  • Owners of NFTs will have access to unique products and exciting experiences.

A collection of football boots are all set to be launched in NFT format by Atlético de Madrid and WhaleFin on the STEPN mobile app.

The collection will feature 1,001 football boots that have been categorized under three groups- common, uncommon and rare. Among these, 850 ‘Common’ boots will be allocated to the national & international titles of the club.  

The 140 ‘Uncommon’ boots will celebrate Atlético Madrid’s stadiums. As far as the remaining 11 ‘Rare’ boots are concerned, they will be numbered from 1 to 11, referring to the number of footballers who defend colors in every match’s beginning. 

All the boots will belong to the ‘Genesis’ type, which means exclusive shoes with rare benefits for customers in the STEPN app. Furthermore, owners of the sneakers will receive special rewards in the WhaleFin application. Those who hold an NFT from the collection will be a direct part of the draw and get to experience not only a trip and hotel nights but also tickets to enjoy a live match at the Cívitas Metropolitano.

Those who acquire ‘Uncommon’ boots, will get an official Atlético de Madrid shirt. ‘Rare’ boots owners will get access to a unique item, thanks to their jersey being signed by the team captains.

A total of 200 shoes will be released in the first edition. Out of these, 180 boots will be distributed via WhaleFin. STEPN will release the rest 20 sneakers to its user base.

Registering on the WhaleFin application is a must to receive NFTs of the first print run.

10% of the profits earned from the sales will be donated to the Atlético de Madrid Foundation to help it support international schools financially.
