On the occasion of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the country’s Foundation Day, the United Arab Emirates launched the world’s most expensive modern postage stamp. The most expensive edition is named the “Golden Jubille 2021.”
Government-owned post office, Emirates Post Group, announced the first edition of the modern postage stamp with its four editions. There is a digital replica of each actual stamp in the collection.
The “Golden Jubille 2021,” which costs 2021 AED ($550 USD) and has 2021 pieces, is the most costly edition. Every stamp the Emirates Post Group issued on occasion consists of one gram of gold.
“Spirit of the Union-1971” is titled the second stamp, representing the foundation of UAE by its founding fathers.
The third stamp is called “Year of the 50th-2021,” while the fourth has been termed the “Projects of the 50th 2071.” both of which reflect the UAE’s long-term ambitions.
The other three sets of each non-fungible token (NFT) postage stamp cost roughly 250 AED ($68).
During the event CEO of the post group, Abdullah AL Ashram revealed that the step was taken to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Founding Day. He also emphasized the fact that anyone in the world can buy digital collectible postage stamps.

It’s definitely a part of the broader strategy, and blockchain will be the key to many projects at Emirates Post Group.
Emirates Post Group is the only one to launch the NFT postage stamp in the Middle East and North Africa. This shows Blockchain has become a crucial part of UAE’s business approach over the past year.
