In the 11th Ask Me Anything on Reddit, Bill Gates, the Co-Founder of Microsoft, weighed in on Web3, artificial intelligence, and the metaverse. He downplayed the development of the metaverse and Web3 and backed artificial intelligence as the next revolutionary technology.

In the session, he was asked whether any giant technology was at a stage that was shared by the internet when it was in the early 2000s. To this, Bill Gates replied that he realized AI was certainly the most suitable answer to this, palliating other technologies such as the metaverse and crypto

As per the statement released by Bill Gates, AI is really the big one, and Web3 doesn’t have that level of height. Additionally, he revealed that metaverse stuff alone was revolutionary, but artificial intelligence is quite revolutionary. Conclusively, he dismissed the potential embedded in the metaverse to attain growth that could replicate the growth attained by the internet.

Earlier, Gates dismissed NFTs and crypto, claiming that they were purely based on the “greater fool” theory. He also joked about really expensive monkey pictures saving the world, instead of saying that he chooses asset classes such as farms that might produce actual outputs.

When questioned about farmland in the AMA, Gates revealed that he owned less than 1/4000 of the total farmland in the United States. Well, as per some Redditors, that was quite a lot of land.
