  • For Web3 players, the new tool, slated to debut in April 2023, will serve as a non-custodial wallet, gamer profile, and authentication solution.
  • The developer studio’s main goals for incorporating Web3 components into games were plug-and-play functionality.
  • Any studio incorporating Passport will also have access to the ImmutableX ecosystem’s active gamers.

Immutable Passport, which gives game developers a thorough method to draw players into Web3, will soon be available on the Ethereum blockchain system.

According to a customer study by Immunatable, the developer studio’s primary objectives when integrating Web3 components into games were plug-and-play functionality, security compliance, and ease of onboarding.

According to Immutable, the new technology will “promote acceptance across American audiences, maintain enterprise-grade security, and access pertinent player metrics.” for Web3 game developers. Any studio incorporating Passport will also have access to the ImmutableX ecosystem’s active gamers.

Similar to an Xbox Gamertag or an Apple ID, the new tool functions as a non-custodial wallet, gamer profile, and authentication solution without a password at sign-on. As a result, neither Immutable nor the signing of transactions utilize a user’s private keys.

The immutable passport gives users access to several capabilities, including a safe digital wallet, fraud detection, and seamless authentication across Web3 games and markets.

According to Immunatable president and co-founder Robbie Ferguson,

Web3 gaming must reach a billion players, and onboarding must reach a billion players, and onboarding must be transparent, safe, and functional across every game—mobile, console, or desktop.

Passport is a self-custodial wallet where users can sign in with an email and a one-time password. The team added,

It will revolutionize the game for players and drastically lower user asset expenses.

With the use of cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens by prominent corporations like Ubisoft and Square Enix, blockchain-based gaming has advanced recently (NFT). According to a DappRadar analysis, Web3 gaming has seen substantial development and investment. In August 2022, $748 million was raised to create new Web3 games.
