  • The company has machines in 46 states with bitcoin ATMs within a 15-minute drive of 80% of the U.S. population.
  • Members of the convenience retailer’s loyalty program will have lower rates.

More than 800 convenience stores in Midwest will soon have bitcoin ATMs. In an agreement with Coinsource, Kwik Trip Inc. has inked launching the kiosks to its convenience stores network in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and Wisconsin.

As per Fort Worth-based Coinsource, which is a bitcoin ATM network, installation process is ongoing.

Dave Wagner, controller of La Crosse-based Kwik Trip, said:

We are delighted to be partnering with Coinsource and facilitating simple access to bitcoin for our customers. We understand Coinsource’s aim of providing the fastest, easiest and most secure way to buy and sell cryptocurrencies and how a key part of this is placing the bitcoin ATMs in convenient and easily accessible locations.

Additionally, he said:

As an added benefit, we know our customers are getting the best deal since Coinsource has the lowest proven rates plus industry-leading compliance, which really sealed the deal.

All over the country, fee of Coinsource is 11% with a precise bitcoin price and no hidden charges. A negligible fee is charged per transaction though. Members of Kwik Trip Rewards will be charged lower rates.

Coinsource’s CEO, Sheffield Clark, said:

Partnering with Kwik Trip made perfect sense as it enables us to continue our mission of making crypto accessible to every American at phenomenally low rates, especially at a time when traditional economic systems have shown weaknesses. It is our top priority to place our machines in essential, convenient locations, because bitcoin is becoming increasingly essential to Americans.

About 38,000 bitcoin ATMs are spread worldwide. Offering immediate transactions, Coinsource provides bitcoin to users in a few minutes only.

In 2021, Ankeny, Iowa-based Circle K formed an international partnership with Bitcoin Depot that spans the United States and Canada. 30 states had installation of 700 plus bitcoin ATMs by July 2021. Sheetz collaborated with Flexa in May 2021 to allow customers pay or fill up on forecourt via ether, bitcoin, dogecoin and litecoin.
