  • Harri Thomas, Director of Products at PROOF, announced that it is shifting its blue-chip collection completely “in chain.”
  • The shift is aimed at allowing images to be completely contained within the underlying smart contract.
  • The new approach will revealingly mean the viewable image of a Moonbird NFT is going to be constructed from the contract itself in the future.

The private community behind the Moonbirds NFT collection, PROOF, has recently made an announcement regarding its blue-chip collection’s shift to “in chain” completely. This will allow the images to be completely contained within the underlying smart contract.

Harri Thomas, the Director of products at PROF, explained the new approach and what it will mean in the coming future in a community live stream on Tuesday named Future PROOF. The explanation revealed that the viewable image of a Moonbird NFT is going to be constructed from the contract itself from art layers, which will further be stored on the blockchain

In addition, Thomas shared an explanation claiming that their ETH-based NFTs will differ from the other NFTs. He mentioned other NFTs indicating the tokens that point to the location where the images are stored off-chain.

Addressing the approach, he revealed that it is an uncommon one but not distinct and explained it by sharing an example of OnChainMonkey, an NFT project that is utilizing the same approach and is a 10K PFP NFT collection launched in the year 2021.

Though Thomas in the community live stream did not provide the exact date, he affirmed that this task is going to be a primary focus for the smart contract team. This means that it won’t take long.

One of the live stream hosts, Justin Mezzell, who is also the Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, revealed that it is kind of cool that the project is completely decentralized and viewable for just generations.

Along with this, the live stream revealed that Moonbird Mythics, the first official expansion of the Moonbirds collection of PROOF, is expected to launch in early 2023.

Andreessen Horowitz, a venture capital firm, led a Series A funding round in which PROOF managed to raise $50 million. The funding round witnessed the participation of SV Angel, VaynerFund, True Ventures, Collab+Currency, Seven Seven Six, and Flamingo DAO.

Kevin Rose, the Founder of PROOF, shared his thoughts on the same and revealed that it feels great to have this vote of confidence from some of the most prominent investors in Web3.
