These projects display works that do not have copyright reservations and enable the holders to create, monetize and explore every sort of utility and app.
Bored Ape Yacht Club is the most prominent one in the category, and its holders have the best intellectual property benefits through creating wines, merchandise, games, and theme restaurants.
Rarible’s Chief Business Development Officer Sunil Singhvi said:
The MFers project has spawned a whole new world, as have all the best CC0 projects. They are the kindling to a larger fire and the catalyst to a new model of community ownership and creative freedom in the NFT space.
Additionally, he said:
While aggregated marketplaces are still important to aid discovery and help fuel the broader ecosystem, this custom marketplace will allow fans and community-members a place to dive deeper, learn more, and bask in glory what the MFers community has built.
As MFers creator Sartoshi has stepped down, the collaboration is happening at a time when the brand success is more community led compared to ever before.
MFers has always been a community-driven project. The new marketplace aims to provide a home to this vibrant community besides assuring the project has a place to grow and flourish, even if there’s no creator.
In its latest blog, Rarible shared one primary reason behind the need for community-specific marketplaces. It stated that since most PFP projects are about the community you access and the network you build, these teams tend to create a secure place where the community can trade and navigate their NFTs within the brand’s ecosystem.
Part of the fees collected from the community will be directed to the community DAO wallet, thus, enabling the community to benefit from every trade.
The marketplace went live on June 14, featuring the CREYZIES NFT collection dropped by the Mfers and “the end of Sartoshi” open mint edition.
