Soapy Joe launched NFT promotion to drive its sales

Big brands like Nike, and Adidas and luxury fashion brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton have already dipped their toes in the NFTs. These companies are launching their virtual wearables, NFT collections, and fashion shows on metaverse.

However, no one would have imagined a car wash company to enter the NFT realm. In a recent press release, Soapy Joe a car washing company in San Diego launched its NFT campaign in July 2022.

They have added NFT benefits in their membership program which allows members to collect as many NFTs as they wish from the company’s 17 outlets in San Diego. The more a person collects these Ethereum-based NFTs, the more rewards he can unlock.

The rewards tied to the NFTs includes physical key chains, tickets to amusement parks, and even free annual membership. The car washing company outlets witnessed a surge of people coming to collect NFTs.

A customer of Soapy Joe in its Twitter post said,

finally I have visited 16 different soapy joe’s locations and gotten my car washed 20 times in one month

Anne Mauler, Soapy Joe’s VP of marketing said,

We are seeing numbers that we have never seen in our 11 year history in terms of people going to multiple sites,…. They are blowing it out of the water.

In two and a half months since the Soapy Joe’s NFT campaign, its customers have minted over 10,000 NFTs in around 2000 wallets. The company has benefitted immensely from the NFT campaign. It has witnessed a 10% hike in its membership and customers visiting the outlets in recent months.

The NFT collectibles are called “Soapy Squad” which comes in a design of an air freshener. Soapy Joe sends the link to the customers via email to redeem the NFTs.

Mauler said,

Seeing Ellen with her little cat image, saying ‘This is something that we can do.’ We are known for being a little bit wacky, definitely on the cutting edge, liking to be innovative and doing the unexpected, and we definitely do not see ourselves as playing toe-to-toe with other car washes,

The company’s “Summer Passport” NFT promotion will end on September 30th, 2022. However, according to the officials, they are looking forward to formulating NFT-based strategies which will be announced in the coming months.
