South Korea’s 12th most populated city, Seongnam, is preparing to revive the city in the metaverse. As per local media reports, NFT citizenships will be issued to offer access to municipal information.

Plans regarding the same will be finalized next year by April. This will be followed by beginning the operations in the metaverse in probably May or June the same year.

NFT citizenships are being issued to promote the metaverse city and will enable citizens to access in-depth municipal details. The government of Seongnam city shared further details regarding the platform. Talking about the non-fungible tokens, they will be discussed in the meeting scheduled for October.

A virtual city in the metaverse is being built by Seoul as well. Last month, a test opening for its virtual presence was organized.

Seongnam has a population of over one million and is known as the satellite city of Seoul.
