Visa partners with Crypto.com to launch football-inspired NFTs ahead of FIFA Cup

In a recent announcement, it was revealed that the global fintech firm Visa, which is also the official payment partner of FIFA, has entered a partnership with Crypto.com, a leading crypto assets exchange platform, to launch NFTs inspired by football. The partnership of the two firms has led to the fusion of the aspect of art, NFTs, and football to develop the new NFTs. 

Visa was confirmed to be the official partner of the Crypto.com assets exchange platform in a press release shared on November 1. As a result, the NFT collection anointed “Visa Master of Movement” is live for auction until November 9 on the crypto exchange platform. 

As revealed, the Visa Master of Movement NFT collection will be featuring tokenized distinct works of art that will be inspired by the iconic FIFA World Cup goals. The goals came from five legendary footballers of all time, Tim Cahill, Michael Owen, Maxin Rodriguez, Jared Borgetti, and Carli Lloyd. 

From November 19 to December 18, Visa is anticipating bringing the collection dubbed Visa Master of Movement NFT collection into life on an interactive pitch at the highly anticipated FIFA Fan festival in Doha, Qatar. 

During this period, Visa will be allowing the fans of both crypto and football to facilitate the creation of digital art inspired by their signature movements. In addition to this, they will be able to mint this digital art on Crypto.com, which is the official crypto trading platform and also the sponsor of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The Senior Vice President and Head of Sponsorships at Visa, Andrea Fairchild, released a statement regarding the same that addressed their intentions to celebrate art, football, and technology through the lens of what exactly makes the FIFA World Cup so special. This surely gives the opportunity to bring the world together in a distinctly connected way. 

In accordance with the revelations from Visa, the Visa Master of Movement NFT collections are going to be live for auction until November 9, 2022. Moreover, it should be noted that the profits from the NFT sales are beneficial for the UK charity Street Child United. 


Not more than a week ago, Visa filed two trademark applications to take a leap into the metaverse with NFTs, salon services, and virtual makeup.
