In a recent announcement, it was revealed that Akshaya.io, an NFT platform, has collaborated with the World Tennis League to launch ‘Phygital’ NFTs. With this ‘Phygital’ marketplace, supporters will have the option to purchase the official World Tennis League (WTL) team jerseys signed by the players and also a 3D digital NFT.

The inaugural event of the World Tennis League will be held in Dubai this week. Apart from collecting the physical memorabilia, fans can also meet their sports idols like Iga Swiatek and Novak Djokovic, which can then be preserved as an NFT.

The game of the World Tennis League (WTL), a new mixed-gender team competition, is going to be held from December 19th to 24th at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, where four teams, each comprising 18 of the best ATP and WTA Tour players, will compete.

To allow users to claim ownership of both physical and digital assets with verified proof of originality, the marketplace has combined Metaverse and NFTs. The ones who are interested in dealing with unique collectibles offer rare artifacts.

CEO at Akshaya, Ganesh Raju, said that it is an amazing and fabulously rare opportunity during this renowned inauguration of the World Tennis League in Dubai where they can make use of their physical, tactile, and digital experiences.

At present, Akshaya.io has a decent store presence in 45 cities in India, Nepal, and Bangladesh and also has strong business relations with potential partners. Partners will develop or add their NFTs on the Akshaya.io platform.
