  • .polygon domains will offer a portable identity to users across 750 plus dApps, games and metaverses.
  • Unstoppable Domains is offering a discount of 25% off on .polygon domains for the next 48 hours.
  • Unstoppable Domains will introduce unique access to premium .polygon gaming and digit domains.

Polygon has collaborated with Unstoppable Domains to create Web3 “.polygon” domain names. The move will enable users to log in to Web3 apps, utilize human-readable wallet addresses, and make decentralized websites.

Over 180 million users and 40,000 services throughout the Polygon ecosystem will have access to the service. Unstoppable Domains utilizes Polygon for the purpose of minting decentralized domains without any gas fees.

Until now, the number of domains registered on the Polygon blockchain is around 2.7 million. By using “.polygon” domains, users can create digital identities that are compatible across 750 apps, metaverse platforms, and games. Moreover, these can be used as far as logging in to Web3 applications like decentralized websites and crypto wallet addresses are concerned.

Unstoppable Domains enables users to make profiles that are possible to link to social media channels and work like a digital identity across both Web3 platforms as well as networks.

Sanket Shah, Polygon Labs vice president of business development, highlighted the significance of unlocking user-acquired digital identities for Polygon users.

He said that Web3 domains will offer a digital identity to their community; thereby, allowing them to log in to decentralized applications without sharing personal details and transacting cryptocurrency without any lengthy wallet addresses.

Access to premium “.polygon” gaming and digital domains will also be provided by Unstoppable Domains from March 16.

Over the last year, decentralized domain services such as Ethereum Name Service and Unstoppable Domains have become famous and experienced significant growth in the number of domains registered.
